Aims and Scope of Code Liberty:
1) Subject to Respective National and International Laws, members shall seek to:
car
a) Promote freedom of ideas expressed in software when they are abstract concepts or logical expressions existing as ideas of a feeling or quality, and not as applied natural science and ensure that these do not become subject to artificial monopolies.
b) Promote the rights of software authors, as authors, under the Berne Convention (1971), the WTO(TRIPS) Treaty, the WIPO Treaties and any other international agreements where applicable.
c) Protect the principles of copyright in software as the sole legitimate form of protection, and oppose any regime that would prejudice these rights.
d) Fight over-regulation and needless bureaucracy implemented on the software publishing industry by Governments and Courts.
e) Formulate global strategies for all authors of software to enjoy their rights to produce, authorize, give away and/or exploit
original works by any means and in any form.
f) Prevent intellectual property law from being used disproportionately in controlling the flow of information and ideas.
g) To uphold the established principles of "fair use".
